I felt someone lifting me. “Hello?” I asked. Nothing. Not a word. “Who are you?” I was terrified beyond reason. There was someone there, lifting me out of the trunk. “Where are we?”
I felt something go over my mouth. It was cool, wet, and tasted like. . .
I woke up. I don’t even remember falling asleep. All I remember was the ride in the back of a trunk in an undisclosed location. I had no idea where I was now. I was blindfolded still and my hands and feet were now both bounded to a bed I was lying on. Great. Just freaking great.
“Help!” I screamed. My mouth was dry and cotton like and my voice was too soft for it to even matter. Still I yelled for help until my mouth was scratchy and hurting.
Finally I heard a door open and close. “Please, let me go.” I cried.
I felt a washcloth go over my forehead. It felt cool and soothing. Then I felt the taste of ice on my mouth. “Suck on this.” She said. Wait, I know that voice. “Skip?”
“Just suck on it Orange. And do us both a favor and shut the hell up.”
“Skip, what’s going on?” I started to cry. “Why am I here?”
Then nothing. All I could hear were her footsteps and a door opening. She had left.
I don’t know how long I waited but I heard more muffling sounds from somewhere. “Who’s there?” I asked. Still it was silent on the other end. No one spoke. I heard more muffling sounds coming closer and closer. Then I heard the door open. Footsteps walked in, two set from what I could tell. I then heard a muffled cry. Shit, who was that?
“Now stay put, or I’ll do to you what I did to that man.” A male voice this time barked.
I heard cried from across the room. “What’s your name?” I asked. I felt horrible. I mean here I was tied to a bed and someone was there with me crying because. . . Why was this person crying?
“It’s me, Orange.” Cait cried.
“CAIT!” I screamed and tried to lift my head to see her, even though I was blindfolded. “Cait, what happened?”
“I don’t know, but Travis is dead.” She cried again.
Oh God, oh noes! What have I done!?! “Cait, I’m so sorry.”
“They killed him.” She cried.
The door opened again and I heard Cait scream before the sound of a gun being fired. Then I heard myself scream. I don’t actually remember screaming as I was in too much shock. “CAIT!” I screamed and started to sob. I was gonna die next. I knew it. Here i was tied up to a table and my only sure friend was somewhere in the room with a bullet in her.
“That’s for talking, bitch.” The same man that brought her in said.
I continued to quietly sob.
I didn’t know what was truly going on. I could hear talking one moment outside, it was all muffled and couldn’t make out what people were saying, but I knew that I was lying in my death bed and these were the final moments in my life. I prayed for it to come soon rather than later. It didn’t matter where I was now that I think about it. I didn’t want to know. The two most selfless people in my life were dead because of me and now I was completely alone.
I heard the door open again and someone came walking towards me.
“Please, just let me go.” I cried.
I felt at my arm the bounds being loosened and then gone. Then the other one. Next came my feet. Was I being freed?“What are you doing?” I asked under a sob.
“Taking you to see the boss.” Julia said.
“Was that the one who shot Cait?”
“No. That was just Perrin.” She answered before helping me to my feet. “Now, keep the blindfold on or I’m gonna have to tie you up again. Your gonna have to come with me, and no more talking.”
Julia led the way. I had no idea where I was going. I just walked right next to her. The place around me was eerie quite, maybe too quiet. “Julia,” I whispered, “what’s going on?”
“No talking.” She whispered back. I continued to walk alongside her as she held my arm.
We halted and I heard a door open. Julia and I continued on. She stopped me and pushed me down onto a seat. “Sit.” She said. I felt uncomfortable. I didn’t know what was going on. First there was Skip, who I had no idea why she was even here. Now there was Julia directing me to sit down somewhere. Was she working for the cops still, or was she working for the bossas she called him?
I kept silent, keeping Cait in my mind. I had so many questions with so little answers to go on.
The door opened again, and then again. For a while the door kept opening and closing and I concentrated on that sound. I counted off how long between intervals the door opened and closed. It was synched with actual time. Every two hundred I counted the door opened and every thirty I counted the door closed. I had no idea what was going on behind me, but I waited and I waited.
Finally I heard one last door slam. Someone walked past me, I could feel her-him, doesn’t matter. I also smelt their cologne or was it perfume? For the longest time I kept quiet – this had to be a record for me. “Orange.” The woman spoke, and not just any woman, it was. . . .
“R.J.?” I stuttered out my own disbelief.
“Surprised?” She asked with a little laugh at the end. “Yeah, I bet you are. You’re just like all the rest of them, thinking I was the dumbest tool in the shed. HA! What they didn’t know, what no one knew was that I was the mastermind behind everything. EVERYTHING!” She screamed.
Wow, she has issues.“Why are you doing this R.J.” I asked with more venom in my voice. “Why do this to your friends? Cait was a good person, she didn’t need to be killed!”
“She was a douche who saw the greatness in everything. Plus, she had what I needed, her connection to Rain.”
“And me?” I asked. “What did I have? Why throw the new girl in town into all of this?”
“Easy, I needed someone to pin this on. The new girl running away, sounded like a perfect plan. No one would expect me and no one will. You’ll be sent to prison and I’ll be free with all the money in the world. My boys have been busy tonight too. They robbed all the banks on that list I gave you, and each time they left a little present.”
“An orange diamond.” I surmised. “So, why keep me alive?”
“So that I can arrest you.”
I let that sink in. So, I was off to the big house with a ton of evidence on me and no one to disprove my innocence. R.J. would get everything she ever wanted I suppose, if money is all she wanted? I still didn’t get her motives though, maybe she was insane like that Perrin fellow?
I was lifted off the seat and felt her put handcuffs on me. “And the blindfold?” I asked.
“Oh right I for–” That’s when we both froze. We heard gun fire all outside the room. Screaming and shouting were heard as well. I laughed. Someone didn’t like R.J.’s plan.
“Shit!” R.J. yelled. “Shit, shit, shit.”
“Looks like your about to be found out.” I laughed. Then I felt the butt of the gun on the back of my neck and I toppled to the floor
I had been awake listening to the carnage outside, and afraid to move I just sat there and waited. I could hear men shouting and guns firing. I heard someone shout “Put the gun down!” And I knew it was Chris. At least Chris wasn’t in on this plan. I felt bad for him, having to find out his wife was the one behind everything that has happened over the last few days.
I heard the door click, and open.
“Hello?” I asked. I was crying more now. Was the person a good person or a bad person? Were they here to rescue me or were they here to kill me?
“Please, just let me go.” I cried.
I felt someone grab the blindfold and pulled it off of me.
I sat there and blinked my eyes till I they focused while the person took off my handcuffs. Sure enough, I finally was able to see past the blurriness. There right in front of me was Ryan. He had a small grin on his face. “Hey cupcake. You miss me?”
“Ryan!” I gasped and flew into his arms. For the first time in my life I never felt more happier to see Ryan Austin. I held onto him tight, never wanting to let him go.
“There, there, I got you babe.” He soothed.
“I don’t understand. . .” I wiped a tear from my face as it came down. “How did you find me? And why did you even care to come looking for me?”
“I was fired from my job cause they thought I had something to do with the robbery. I knew that wasn’t the case. So, I went back to go look for you and I saw the man that yelled at me inside, dead. I called the cops. The house was tossed. I figured you were taken.”
And with that I kissed him. I kissed him so deeply, that for a moment I thought that everything could go back, before Bridgeport. Though something’s would have to change, but right now, I didn’t care about those things.
Author’s Note: I don’t know when, but eventually I will carry on Orange’s and Ryan’s story in a Legacy format. I just want to go through the challenges and see what I want to do. I know I’m not going to do a DitFT with them, but I’ll find something.
Oh and somehow I lost some of the hairs after installing generations. I tried to match the simselfs with the closest hair I had rather than reinstalling. Hope you don’t mind.
